A family owned company providing firearms and personal defense training to citizens (families), Law Enforcement and Military.
Sergeant Jamie Tharp is a proud member of the Decatur Police Department and a Certified Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Instructor. As a respected Primary Instructor, he has a specialty in psycho-motor skills in firearms including handguns, patrol rifles and shotguns.
At the age of 16, Tharp took his first NRA handgun class under the direction of Dean (OBF) Ingmire and continued to study under OBF until his untimely death in 2012. Tharp completed all of the SAS classes from basic handgun to advanced shotgun and rifle.
In 1990, while still in high school, Tharp enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves. He attended Army basic training at Fort McCellan, Alabama, where he received the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his Basic Training Company. Tharp was stationed in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with the 384th MP Battalion Headquarters Company. He was part of the 300th MP Pistol and Rifle team and trained the 300th MP command on the use of weapons, from side arms to Mark 19 semi automatic grenade launchers.
Tharp started his civilian law enforcement career in 1995, when he became an Adams County Sheriff Reserve Deputy and an Adams County Jail Officer. Even though his time was short at the ACSD, Tharp was exposed to numerous offenders every day, giving him insight to the behavior of the criminal mind.
In 1999 Tharp was hired by the Decatur Police Department and in 2001 he was asked to become the Departments Firearms Instructor. He has trained thousands of Police, Fire and EMS personnel, worked with the U.S. Marshall’s Office, trained some of Indiana’s SWAT team members and received active shooter and tactical medical training.
Jamie Tharp has dedicated his life to being a servant of mankind, and is just as committed to passing his passion of personal safety on to the private sector so you can protect yourself and those you love.
